DCD Abu Dhabi’s Initiatives Highlight Family and Marriage Bonds at Liwa Village

Abu dhabi: The Department of Community Development - Abu Dhabi (DCD) participated in the Liwa International Festival by hosting interactive activations at Liwa Village through their Medeem Initiative and the Emirati Family Growth Program, "Numou". These initiatives aimed to celebrate and promote strong marriage partnerships and family bonds.

According to Emirates News Agency, DCD's installations were available to visitors at Liwa Village, in the Al Dhafra Region, until January 4, 2026. These installations showcased the core messages of Medeem and Numou, focusing on marriage and family stability. The installations were open daily from 16:00 to 22:00, as part of the Liwa International Festival organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).

A key feature was "The Different Roles of You - Medeem", a circular mirror installation where visitors could see their reflections multiply, symbolizing the various dimensions of their roles in marriage. This visualization emphasized the importance of love, dedication, and commitment in building a secure partnership and nurturing future family growth.

Another installation, "The Story We Grow - Numou", used pod-based experiences to deliver personalized videos for family members, including mothers, fathers, and caregivers. These videos highlighted the influence of each member's actions and words on a child's development, underlining their role in fostering a nurturing household.

Dr. Mona Al Mansoori, Acting Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority and Executive Director of the "Medeem" Initiative, commented on the installations' success at fostering engagement with families and promoting the values of Medeem and Numou. She emphasized the importance of these experiences in honoring the contributions of each family member to a stable home and encouraged visitors to explore how these resources could support their family growth as they approach the Year of Family 2026.
