Death Toll from Brazil Floods Rises to 46

Minas gerais: The death toll from the heavy rains in Brazil's southeastern state of Minas Gerais has risen to 46, according to figures released by the state fire department on Wednesday.

According to Emirates News Agency, flooding and landslides have displaced around 3,600 people in the cities of Juiz de Fora and Uba, which are located about 110 kilometers apart. The state fire department also reported that 21 people remain missing amid the ongoing crisis.

Brazil's federal government has expedited relief and humanitarian aid to the affected region. In a statement, it was revealed that health agents and national defense professionals have been deployed to assist in the relief efforts.
