Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating in the 10th edition of the Knowledge Summit, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
According to Emirates News Agency, the summit is organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme, under the theme 'Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities'. It will take place on 19th and 20th November 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized their commitment to the vision of transforming Dubai into a city of the future and its position as a global knowledge economy hub. He noted that innovation, science, and knowledge are crucial for empowering national talent and shaping a sustainable future. The Knowledge Summit serves as a global platform highlighting efforts to drive the knowledge economy and sustainable development.
During the summit's exhibition, DEWA will showcase key projects and initiatives supporting sustainability, innovation, and a knowledge-based economy. This includes the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world's largest single-site solar park, with a production capacity of 3,860 megawatts. DEWA aims to expand the solar park's capacity to exceed 8,000 megawatts by 2030, significantly reducing carbon emissions.
DEWA will also highlight its Research and Development Centre, which enhances Dubai's position as a global research hub for solar power, smart grids, and energy efficiency. The centre employs 45 individuals, with a significant number holding advanced degrees. Since its inception, it has published numerous scientific papers and registered several patents, showcasing its contribution to research and development.
