Dubai: The 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world's largest global event dedicated to the content creation economy, has announced that Disney+, the streaming service of The Walt Disney Company, has joined as a Strategic Partner for its fourth summit.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event will be organized by the UAE Government Media Office and is set to take place from 9th to 11th January 2026 at various iconic locations such as Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and the Museum of the Future. The summit will operate under the theme 'Content for Good.'
The partnership with Disney+ aims to attract major global companies to elevate standards in digital content creation, enabling creators to leverage expertise from international firms. This collaboration intends to facilitate creators in reaching global audiences and transforming content into sustainable income, aligning with the UAE's vision to establish itself as a hub for digital media and the creative economy.
Tamim Fares, Director of Disney+ Middle East, expressed pride in participating in the summit, recognizing it as a significant global platform that unites leading creators and storytellers. He emphasized the critical role of content creation in the entertainment industry and highlighted Disney+'s commitment to fostering impactful, culturally resonant content.
Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and Director of the summit, emphasized that the partnership with Disney+ supports the creation of culturally significant content and will inspire emerging voices in the region. She noted that Disney+'s expertise in creative content production and talent development would enhance the capabilities of summit participants.
The summit continues to build collaborations that blend global expertise with local talent, aiming to expand creators' reach across various markets. AlHammadi underscored the summit's role in reflecting the rapid evolution of the digital media sector and adapting to transformations within the global content industry.
Building on the success of its 2025 edition, which drew over 15,000 content creators, 420 speakers, and 125 CEOs and global experts, the upcoming edition is poised to introduce several global initiatives. These include the world's largest AI-generated film award in partnership with Google, and the Creators Ventures Accelerator, supported by Creators HQ and 500 Global, with significant funding allocated to support creators and startups.
Additionally, the summit will feature a dedicated pavilion for content creation companies for the first time, marking a milestone in advancing the content creation economy and empowering young creators by drawing inspiration from successful influencers.
