Drydocks World Initiates Construction of Smart, Sustainable Head Office in Dubai

Dubai: Drydocks World has commenced the construction of its new head office complex in Dubai, marking a significant step in the company's transformation as a leader in marine and offshore services. This development underscores its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

According to Emirates News Agency, the facility is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027 and aims to centralise operations, enhance collaboration, and reflect the company's dedication to innovation, safety, and sustainability. The project aligns with the vision of DP World, Drydocks World's parent company, to establish world-class, sustainable workplaces across the Group.

The 44,779-square-metre facility, located on a 13,390-square-metre plot next to the existing shipyard, will consolidate nearly 700 employees under one roof, enhancing communication and operational efficiency. Its strategic location will improve accessibility for visitors and clients, with direct access from Jumeirah Beach Road to ease congestion while maintaining security standards.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, commented on the project as a milestone in the company's transformation. He emphasized the investment in smart, sustainable infrastructure that strengthens Dubai's position as a global hub for trade and innovation.

Captain Rado Antolovic, CEO of Drydocks World, highlighted the new head office as a milestone in the company's journey of transformation. He noted that consolidating teams into a modern, sustainable facility would foster collaboration and innovation.

Juan Carlos Sahdala, Group Chief Planning and Project Officer at DP World, described the new head office as part of a broader transformation to create next-generation workplaces that combine smart design, technology, and sustainable systems.

The facility is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification and will include smart technologies, energy-efficient systems, and next-generation safety infrastructure. It will feature open-plan workspaces, prayer rooms, dining areas, and fitness facilities to promote wellbeing and collaboration.

Additionally, the development will include a multi-level parking facility with approximately 500 spaces, including 50 charging slots for electric vehicles, supporting DP World's goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The new head office complements DP World's global headquarters at Expo City Dubai, which is also under construction and set for completion in 2027. Together, these projects demonstrate the Group's commitment to creating sustainable workplaces that drive innovation and support Dubai's role as a global trade and industry hub.
