Dubai:du has successfully implemented advanced 5G-Advanced (5G+) indoor connectivity at Majid Al Futtaim's Mall of the Emirates, in collaboration with Huawei.
According to Emirates News Agency, the deployment achieved consistent speeds exceeding 3.5 Gbps across the mall, enhancing the digital experience for both visitors and retailers.
The setup includes over 150 strategically placed antennas throughout the mall, ensuring robust signal quality and seamless high-speed coverage in both major and minor areas. The system utilizes three-band carrier aggregation, combining a bandwidth of 300 MHz on a single antenna, which includes 200 MHz on the N78 band and 100 MHz on the N41 band.
This advanced technology offers more than 50 percent higher data throughput compared to conventional 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) network performance.
Saleem Alblooshi, Chief Technology Officer at du, emphasized the importance of indoor connectivity, stating that it is crucial for the experience people expect from significant retail and entertainment destinations. He highlighted that the deployment at Mall of the Emirates showcases how 5G+ can deliver the necessary speed, capacity, and consistency to meet these expectations.
