Dubai Airports, dnata, flydubai CEOs Launch World-First Sustainability Showcase at Dubai Airshow


Dubai: Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports; Steve Allen, CEO of dnata; and Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, came together at Dubai Airshow 2025 to mark the launch of the world’s first Sustainability Showcase, a pioneering initiative demonstrating how a fully sustainable aircraft turnaround can be achieved through innovation, technology, and collaboration.



According to Emirates News Agency, the Sustainability Showcase was developed by Dubai Airports, dnata, flydubai, and over 30 industry collaborators. This initiative highlights how collective action can accelerate the aviation sector’s transition to net zero. Paul Griffiths emphasized that the showcase stands as a real-world example of progress, symbolizing what can be achieved when ambition aligns with collaboration. He noted that sustainability is a shared responsibility necessitating partnership and leadership across the aviation industry.



Steve Allen remarked on Dubai’s position as a forward-looking aviation market, noting that the Airshow serves as an ideal platform to display the industry’s trajectory. He expressed pride in presenting dnata’s advanced ground support equipment fleet as proof of how innovation and sustainability can drive improvements in operational efficiency and environmental performance. Allen highlighted that their approach prioritizes zero- and low-emission technologies, complemented by alternative solutions like biofuels, to maximize impact through collaboration with Dubai Airports and flydubai.



Ghaith Al Ghaith recognized Dubai’s history of innovation and its role in driving meaningful progress. He stated that a sustainable future is a shared goal requiring collaboration and innovation across the industry. Al Ghaith affirmed flydubai’s commitment to building a more responsible future for aviation through their participation in the Sustainability Showcase as part of the oneDXB alliance. He highlighted the focus on investing in technology and enhancing operational efficiencies to support a shared vision of a greener tomorrow.
