Abu dhabi: Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, has supported Techies Infotech, a Dubai-based ICT and innovation company, in its international expansion into South Africa.
According to Emirates News Agency, the company expedited its expansion following participation in a trade mission to Cape Town and Johannesburg organized by Dubai Chamber of Commerce in early June as part of their 'New Horizons' initiative. This initiative assists Dubai-based companies in exploring growth opportunities and expanding into global markets.
With the aid of Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the trade mission, and coordination by Dubai International Chamber's office in South Africa, Techies Infotech successfully registered its local entity and set up a head office in Johannesburg and an engineering and technology delivery center in Cape Town. The company also signed strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with several local and regional entities. These new operations will enhance Techies Infotech's presence in South Africa by delivering artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and enterprise e-commerce solutions, while supporting local talent development and creating new employment opportunities.
Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, emphasized their commitment to enabling companies in Dubai to explore international opportunities and build partnerships that support their expansion and long-term growth. He underscored their focus on strengthening Dubai's business community's international presence and opening new avenues for cooperation, trade, and investment.
Dr. Anurag Byala, Founder and CEO of Techies Infotech, highlighted the pivotal role Dubai Chambers played in accelerating their expansion into South Africa. He noted that the roadshow facilitated by Dubai Chambers helped them identify market opportunities and build relationships with local partners, allowing them to officially register the company and establish an operational presence swiftly.
Dr. Byala added that Dubai Chambers' support enabled them to transition from roadshow meetings to a registered South African company, sign MoUs, and make senior hires locally within months. He affirmed their mission to bring AI and digital transformation to African enterprises while training South Africans and creating local jobs.
The South African operations will act as a cornerstone for Techies Infotech's broader pan-African growth strategy. Over the next three years, the company plans to scale its local delivery team, onboard enterprise clients across various sectors, and use its new base to explore expansion into neighboring markets, including Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.
