Dubai Chamber of Commerce Hosts 252 Bilateral Meetings in Luanda to Boost Dubai-Angola Business Relations

Luanda: Dubai Chamber of Commerce, operating under the auspices of Dubai Chambers, has facilitated an impressive 252 bilateral business meetings between Dubai and Angolan companies in Luanda, Angola's capital. These engagements were part of the chamber's trade mission to Angola and Mozambique under the 'New Horizons' initiative, which is designed to foster the international expansion of Dubai-based companies by tapping into promising global markets.

According to Emirates News Agency, the trade mission to Angola included representatives from 20 Dubai-based private sector companies spanning a variety of industries. These industries include agriculture, construction and building materials, electronics, energy and petrochemicals, engineering, FMCG trading, food and beverages, information technology, manufacturing, maritime and shipping services, metallurgical industries, real estate, retail, and supply chain and logistics.

As part of the mission, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized a business forum in Luanda titled 'Doing Business with Angola.' This event was supported by several key institutions, including the UAE Embassy in Luanda, Angola's Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Angola (CCIA), the Agency of Investment and Export Promotion (AIPEX), and the Consulate General of the Republic of Angola in Dubai. The forum drew 416 participants, including senior officials, business leaders, and Angolan companies keen on exploring partnerships with the visiting Dubai delegation.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the chamber's commitment to fostering trade and investment cooperation between Dubai and other countries. He highlighted the mission's role in uncovering new business opportunities for Dubai companies in Angola, noting that such initiatives enhance Dubai's business community competitiveness and bolster the growth of Dubai's non-oil foreign trade.

The non-oil trade between Dubai and Angola was valued at AED 7.8 billion in 2024, marking a 3.3% annual growth from the AED 7.6 billion reported the previous year. By the end of Q1 2025, the number of Angolan companies registered as active members of Dubai Chamber of Commerce had reached 72.

During the forum, Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, presented an overview of Dubai's economic landscape and highlighted the emirate's competitive advantages for businesses and investors. A discussion session with Jer³nimo Nunda Pongolola from AIPEX explored Angola's economic and investment landscapes, offering strategic insights for Dubai companies to establish and expand their operations in Angola.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce has pinpointed several high-potential export products from Dubai to Angola, including cell phones, textiles, aluminum plates, pharmaceuticals, rice, and perfumes. Key investment opportunities for Dubai-based companies in Angola are identified in sectors like offshore oil and gas technologies, airport management, marine technologies, healthcare services and equipment supplies, and infrastructure projects, including aviation and rail transport.
