Dubai: Dubai Chambers has entered into a strategic partnership with FedEx, the world's largest express transportation company, to enhance the international growth capabilities of Dubai-based businesses. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to bolster export readiness and facilitate entry into global markets through FedEx's robust logistics, global connectivity, and trade expertise.
According to Emirates News Agency, the collaboration seeks to empower member companies of Dubai Chambers to engage more effectively in global trade. By leveraging FedEx's extensive global transportation network and logistics expertise, the MoU offers streamlined onboarding, customs advisory support, and preferential logistics programs to support cross-border trade. This initiative is aimed at simplifying international trade for both SMEs and large enterprises, helping them access new markets with confidence.
Additionally, the agreement includes trade facilitation services like ATA Carnet support, which will enable more efficient movement of goods. This effort is aligned with strengthening Dubai's standing as a leading global trade hub. The MoU was signed at Dubai Chambers' headquarters by Khalid AlJarwan, Executive Vice President of Commercial and Corporate Services at Dubai Chambers, and Nitin Tatiwala, Vice President, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Air Network at FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa.
AlJarwan emphasized the commitment to creating a supportive environment for companies in Dubai, highlighting the importance of partnerships in facilitating trade and enhancing available services. He noted that the collaboration with FedEx would provide advanced logistics solutions, improving export readiness and speeding up the delivery of products and services to international markets, thereby contributing to the sustainable growth of Dubai's foreign trade.
Tatiwala reiterated FedEx's dedication to supporting the UAE as a global trade and business hub. He pointed out that the MoU reflects FedEx's belief in the importance of providing businesses of all sizes the opportunity to compete globally. By integrating FedEx's logistics and digital capabilities with Dubai Chambers' business ecosystem, the partnership aims to simplify cross-border trade and open new international opportunities for Dubai-based companies.
Dubai Chambers' support aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double Dubai's economy by 2033 and rank it among the world's top three economic cities. The strategic priorities include enhancing Dubai's business-friendly environment, attracting global companies and investment, supporting the international expansion of local companies, and advancing Dubai's digital economy.
