Dubai: Dubai Chambers has successfully concluded a series of legal and compliance-focused events in May, designed to empower businesses with the knowledge needed to thrive in the UAE's dynamic regulatory environment. The events included a combination of three in-person workshops and one webinar, focusing on key areas such as UAE Commercial Companies Law, corporate compliance, UAE and GCC Customs Law, and Compliance Challenges on VAT and Excise Tax.
According to Emirates News Agency, the sessions attracted significant interest from the private sector, with a total of 598 participants attending. The participants received valuable insights and ideas on various topics. These included strategies to reduce risks, adopt good corporate governance practices, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Additionally, the events covered customs tariff structures, Harmonised System (HS) code classification, the treatment of goods within free zones, customs valuation methodologies, customs audit procedures, and strategies for overcoming cross-border trade challenges within the GCC countries.
These comprehensive sessions were aimed at equipping the business community with the necessary tools to navigate the complex legal landscape in the UAE, ensuring they remain compliant and competitive in the ever-evolving market.
