Dubai: Dubai Health announced a series of new and strengthened collaborations with leading institutions across academic, technology, and government sectors at the World Health Expo (WHX) Tech 2025. These partnerships underscore the integrated academic health systems' commitment to driving innovation in healthcare delivery, research, and education.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Hanan Al Suwaidi, Chief Business Officer and Acting Chief Academic Officer at Dubai Health, expressed gratitude for the platform provided by WHX Tech 2025, which facilitates the convergence of leaders in healthcare and technology. This collaboration is part of Dubai Health's mission to advance health for humanity by integrating care, learning, discovery, and giving. The partnerships aim to open new pathways to advance technology-driven healthcare innovation.
Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Dubai Health and Siemens Healthineers will establish a strategic innovation partnership. The agreement paves the way for collaboration on defining innovation programs, including the Design4Change Innovation Week program set for February 2026. Additionally, a separate workstream will focus on co-designing a sustainability in healthcare program for the Dubai Health Leadership Academy.
Ayman Al Hussein, Country Head of Siemens Healthineers UAE, emphasized the significance of the partnership in fostering innovation and building capabilities shaping the future of healthcare in the region. This collaboration, rooted in the Siemens Healthineers SHIFT ecosystem, will focus on defining innovation programs and collaboratively designing the Dubai Health Leadership Academy program aimed at building sustainable talent in healthcare.
Furthermore, the Healthcare Sandbox, a new pilot initiative under Sandbox Dubai, was launched through a collaboration between Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Chambers, Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Digital Authority, and Dubai Health. This initiative will provide a platform for developing and testing a wide range of technologies and use cases across healthcare. It builds on Dubai Health's broader partnership with DFF, which supports high-impact research projects in the city, such as the AI-driven PainDetect project led by MBRU.
Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) entered an MoU with Dubai Future Solutions - Prototypes for Humanity to advance the research and development of health science startups. Their solutions will be tested and validated across Dubai Health's healthcare facilities. The collaboration includes initiatives like Virufy, an AI-powered mobile application for rapid prescreening of infectious respiratory diseases, developed in partnership with Nafasy.AI and the University of Washington.
Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) and MBRU will continue their collaboration on innovation and design thinking to develop healthcare solutions. This partnership will include faculty and student exchanges, joint research and projects like the Design4Health Bootcamp. Mohammed Abdullah, President of DIDI, highlighted the role of design thinking and innovation in shaping the future of healthcare by equipping students with tools to address complex challenges and deliver meaningful impact.
Dubai Health also signed agreements with Schneider Electric and Microsoft to drive innovation in healthcare facilities, focusing on 'Intelligent Hospital' initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. Additionally, Dubai Health continues to partner with Huawei for testing and validation of its latest healthcare technologies, building on earlier work with smartwatch health features to advance innovative digital health solutions.
