Dubai: As part of the Arab Media Summit 2025, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and guided by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the Council will organize a series of panel discussions, training workshops, and dialogues during the three-day event starting on 26 May.
According to Emirates News Agency, Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized the significance of the Arab Media Summit as the region's largest media gathering. She highlighted its potential to connect media professionals and engage in dialogues about new trends and opportunities for excellence in the sector. The aim is to foster conversations supporting industry advancement.
Badri further stated that the Council's agenda will focus on the film and gaming sectors, which are experiencing rapid growth in the UAE and the region. The sessions are aligned with the Council's strategic vision, especially following the launch of 'Dubai Films and Games,' a commission aimed at driving sector growth through collaborations with local talent, international production houses, and global developers.
Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, noted that the Council's participation adds depth to this year's Summit. The programme, featuring leading media experts, will highlight emerging sectors and future opportunities in the Arab media landscape, aligning with the Summit's focus on future-driven development and media excellence.
As part of the 'Dubai Media Pioneers' initiative, the Council will honor Emirati professionals who have contributed to the media sector's development. H.H. Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated, will be among the featured participants sharing their professional journeys.
Hesham Al Olama, Director of Strategy and Performance Management at Dubai Media Council, highlighted the focus on film and television production at the Summit. Sessions will explore developing a globally competitive film industry in the UAE, with an emphasis on locally produced films meeting international standards. Additional discussions will focus on the future of TV and drama production.
Al Olama also mentioned that emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, will be examined for their potential to enhance media production capabilities. Discussions will address media's role in education, entertainment, and economic growth, as well as its capacity to build cultural bridges.
Organised by the Dubai Press Club, the Arab Media Summit, scheduled from 26 to 28 May 2025, is expected to attract over 6,000 media professionals, decision-makers, and thought leaders. It includes the Arab Media Forum, Arab Youth Media Forum, Arab Media Award, Ibda'a - Arab Youth Media Award, and the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit and Award.
Over the years, the Summit has convened prominent ministers and key decision-makers from the Arab world and beyond, providing a forum to address challenges, celebrate achievements, and identify opportunities to enhance the sector and enrich content for today's audiences.
