Dubai Municipality Announces Return of 10th Edition of Hatta Honey Festival

Dubai: Dubai Municipality has announced the return of the 10th edition of the Hatta Honey Festival, which will be held until 31st December 2025 at Hatta Hall. The event, which is free and open to the public, brings together beekeepers, producers, and honey enthusiasts.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Festival is part of Dubai Municipality's efforts to position Hatta as a leading eco- and agri-tourism destination, creating economic opportunities for national producers and small businesses. It combines production, learning, testing, and retail experiences, supporting sustainable rural development and reinforcing Hatta's role in Dubai's tourism and economic landscape.

This year's Festival features over 50 indoor booths for beekeepers and honey producers, along with 10 outdoor booths for retail concepts and family-run businesses. The programme includes an outdoor workshop space, an outdoor majlis, an indoor lounge, live performances, children's activities, and four food and beverage trucks.

Dr. Naseem Mohammed Rafee, CEO of the Environment, Health, and Safety Agency at Dubai Municipality, highlighted the Festival's commitment to sustainable agri-tourism and empowering national producers. The Festival integrates learning, heritage, and entertainment, supporting the local economy and Dubai's vision for sustainable tourism and agriculture.

The Dubai Central Laboratory is showcasing advanced equipment and technologies for honey testing, featuring specialised devices using infrared technology for quick laboratory tests. Their comprehensive honey testing framework comprises up to 512 accredited tests, supporting product quality and food safety.

In line with Dubai Municipality's vision for digital transformation, the Dubai Central Laboratory will demonstrate an advanced model for sample reception using smart technologies. A fully automated smart robot will receive honey samples, ensuring precision and reliability while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Additionally, Dubai Municipality will announce a project advancing the documentation of Emirati honey quality. This initiative will develop a laboratory fingerprint and digital identity for local honey, verifying type, origin, and quality. A cooperation agreement with the Hatta Traders Council will be signed to implement this pioneering project.

The Hatta Honey Festival also offers a community-focused winter destination experience, featuring a family-friendly programme that includes interactive workshops, educational activities, and live performances. It aims to enhance quality of life and strengthen community participation.

Organised as part of a comprehensive plan to develop the Hatta region, the Festival aims to diversify the local economy, empower Emirati entrepreneurs, and create sustainable investment opportunities in agriculture and small-scale industries, ensuring high standards of product quality and safety.
