Dubai: Dubai Police announced the launch of the International K9 Show, set to take place from 18 to 20 April, in partnership with Nestl©'s renowned pet nutrition brand, Purina Pro Plan. This event promises to be one of the most exciting and specialised global events in dog training, care, and law enforcement operations.
According to Emirates News Agency, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, confirmed the initiative as a step forward in strengthening international cooperation in policing and security. The inaugural K9 event is aimed at creating a platform for police dog units, showcasing expertise in training and deploying K9s for security and rescue operations, while facilitating knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices among global experts. The vision is to evolve the show into a world-class event within the next five years.
Lieutenant Colonel Salah Al Mazrouei, Director of the K9 Security Inspection Unit, emphasized the crucial role police dogs play in maintaining safety and security. With their unique abilities, K9s are indispensable partners in complex missions and rescue operations at various levels. The show aims to boost the performance of K9 units and provide an opportunity to connect with specialists globally, explore new technologies, and learn from leading experts.
The event will also include a strong community element with activities for dog lovers, educational workshops, and interactive sessions. Visitors can register to attend and partake in the family-friendly atmosphere. Competitions offering cash prizes will be held, with categories such as best breed and live performance displays.
The show will feature more than 30 exhibitors from around the world, including specialists in dog breeding, training, and care. Key entities from both government and private sectors, along with training centres, dog clubs, and wellness hubs, will participate. The event aims to raise awareness of the critical role dog training plays in security, healthcare, and daily life. Additionally, it will offer an interactive zone for families and pet owners, fostering an inclusive space for learning, engagement, and entertainment.
