Ebola Outbreak in DR Congo’s North Kivu Worsens, MSF Urges Action

Abu Dhabi:Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has raised concerns over a significant increase in Ebola cases in North Kivu province in the northeastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, emphasizing the urgent need for expanded treatment facilities.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Ebola outbreak in North Kivu has seen a dramatic rise since early September, with the province now responsible for nearly 40 percent of all newly confirmed cases across the country.

New hotspots are emerging weekly, and the current treatment capacity is insufficient, putting patients and communities at heightened risk. MSF has warned that Ebola treatment centers in North Kivu are already operating at their maximum capacity.
