EDGE and FNSS Collaborate to Upgrade UAE Armed Forces’ Infantry Fighting Vehicles

Abu Dhabi: Al Taif, part of the EDGE Group, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FNSS to upgrade the UAE Armed Forces' infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to enhance their operational readiness and battlefield performance. FNSS is a global leader in the development of wheeled and tracked armoured combat vehicles and related systems.

According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed by Rashed Al Kaabi, CEO of AL TAIF, and Kadir Nail Kurt, General Manager and CEO of FNSS, during the IDEX 2025 event being held at ADNEC. The agreement outlines a collaborative effort to modernise the UAE Armed Forces' IFVs by integrating advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems to meet current technological standards.

The partnership aims to improve the performance and extend the lifespan of the UAE Armed Forces' armoured fleet. Al Kaabi highlighted that this collaboration with FNSS leverages their expertise in vehicle modernisation and AL TAIF's track record in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). This effort is focused on integrating advanced technologies to bolster mission readiness and effectiveness.

Kadir Nail Kurt of FNSS emphasized the importance of their next-generation vehicle development expertise in offering tailored sustainability programmes. These programmes are expected to result in significant upgrades in reliability and durability, ensuring that the vehicles remain effective assets in modern combat scenarios.
