Abu dhabi: Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE, announced that the defence solutions and products developed by the group now reach more than 100 countries worldwide, reflecting growing international confidence in the UAE's defence industries.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Marar stated that EDGE entered 2026 with over 180 ready-to-deploy technological solutions, with an additional 40 solutions currently under development slated for release over the next two years. He emphasized that all these solutions are enhanced with artificial intelligence technologies, driving the advancement of the UAE's defence and security industries.
Al Marar noted the strategic significance of EDGE's participation in the UMEX and SimTEX 2026 exhibitions, underscoring the UAE's leadership in advanced technologies, especially in the realm of unmanned systems. At the event, EDGE is presenting a comprehensive portfolio of unmanned land, maritime, and aerial products, showcasing the nation's innovative capabilities.
He highlighted EDGE's significant role in enhancing technological capabilities globally through the development and delivery of smart and advanced solutions. The company employs over 18,000 staff from 90 nationalities, fostering an environment rich in diverse expertise that promotes innovation and sustainable development.
Al Marar expressed pride in the UAE's armed forces and security personnel, highlighting the group's commitment to providing high-efficiency defence and security products. These products ensure the UAE remains one of the safest countries globally while maintaining its position as a leader in adopting and implementing smart solutions.
EDGE's export success was also noted, with over 70 percent of last year's sales being directed towards international markets, covering unmanned systems, weapons, and security solutions. This success underscores the quality and competitive edge of Emirati products on the global stage, affirming the UAE's status as a hub for advanced technologies.
