EDGE Demonstrates Advanced Autonomous Aerial Capabilities in Brazil

Rio de Janeiro: EDGE, a leading advanced technology and defence group, conducted a capability demonstration for the ANAVIA HT-100 unmanned helicopter at the Army Activities Centre in Restinga da Marambaia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The demonstration highlighted the HT-100's ability to deliver tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) data in real-time. According to Emirates News Agency, the HT-100, developed by EDGE entity ANAVIA, showcased its engineering excellence and innovation in VTOL technology. ANAVIA, a Switzerland-based company specializing in advanced unmanned aerial systems, played a crucial role in ensuring the helicopter's performance and reliability during the live demonstration. The event was attended by representatives from various Brazilian security and defence sectors, including the Brazilian Armed Forces, the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro, and the National Secretariat of Public Security. The demonstration featured the HT-100's quick 15-minute readiness time and its a bility to perform complex flight profiles, including hovering, low-speed and low-altitude flight, figure-eight manoeuvres, and circular orbits. Additionally, the HT-100's visual line-of-sight (VLOS) and beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) capabilities were displayed, along with real-time mapping for enhanced situational awareness. Tiago Silva, CEO of EDGE's LATAM office, emphasized the HT-100's potential to address defence and public security needs in Latin America. He noted that the demonstration provided an opportunity for potential partners to witness the benefits of deploying the HT-100 for strategic missions in the region. The HT-100 is an all-terrain, day/night, adverse-weather-capable unmanned helicopter with a maximum payload of 60 kg, offering a rapidly deployable alternative to manned rotorcraft for intelligence and data-gathering missions. It features an interconnected rotor system and an industrial-grade turbine, enabling up to 6 hours of flight time with energy efficiency and minimal vibration. Jon Andri Jörg, CEO of ANAVIA, stated that the HT-100 sets a new standard in unmanned rotary aviation, offering armed forces and security agencies a reliable platform capable of precision performance in demanding environments. He affirmed that the successful demonstration in Brazil reinforces ANAVIA's vision of delivering European innovation to the global defence market through EDGE Group's extensive reach and capabilities.
