Abu Dhabi: EDGE entity KATIM, known for its work in ultra-secure communications and data protection, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Codan Communications, an Australian leader in High Frequency (HF) communications technology. This agreement was formalized at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2025, taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre until the 21st of February.
According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU establishes a strategic partnership between KATIM and Codan Communications focused on enhancing military radio communication solutions. The collaboration aims to advance the local development, manufacturing, and deployment of secure, adaptable, and mission-ready communication solutions that are specifically designed for modern defence and security operations.
KATIM's CEO, Didier Pagnoux, highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration, stating that it reflects KATIM's focus on equipping defence and security forces with advanced communication technologies. The partnership is committed to providing operators in complex environments with secure, long-range connectivity to meet the evolving demands of modern warfare and ensure mission readiness for critical national security operations.
Paul Sangster, President of Codan Communications, emphasized the company's dedication to delivering secure and field-proven radio solutions for military and security forces worldwide. He noted that the collaboration with KATIM aligns with their shared vision of equipping defence operators with state-of-the-art communication systems that enhance operational efficiency in challenging conditions.
