EDGE Reinforces UAE’s Aerospace Capabilities with Etihad Engineering

Dubai: EDGE Group entity EPI, a key player in precision engineering within the UAE's aerospace, defence, and energy sectors, has joined forces with Etihad Engineering, a globally recognized leader in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. This collaboration focuses on enhancing aircraft component machining capabilities, including MRO activities for aircraft wheel hubs, as announced at the Dubai Airshow 2025 currently taking place at Dubai World Central (DWC). This development marks a significant advancement in bolstering local expertise and fostering the UAE's self-reliance in aircraft component maintenance.

According to Emirates News Agency, the collaboration, initiated in early 2025, has allowed EPI to significantly improve its technical expertise, manufacturing readiness, and adherence to international aviation standards through close cooperation with Etihad Engineering's expert aircraft engineering and maintenance teams. This partnership is seen as a pivotal move in supporting the UAE's vision of creating a sustainable and advanced manufacturing and MRO ecosystem, thereby driving In-Country Value (ICV) and contributing to the nation's industrial growth and aerospace self-sufficiency.

Michael Deshaies, CEO of EPI, emphasized the importance of this milestone, pointing out that both EPI and Etihad Engineering are committed to the UAE's aspirations. Similarly, Daniel Hoffmann, CEO of Etihad Engineering, reiterated their dedication to the UAE's goal of becoming a global aerospace hub by collaborating with industry leaders like EPI to deliver comprehensive MRO solutions to a worldwide clientele.
