According to Emirates News Agency, this effort is part of a long-standing collaboration between Cairo and Bern aimed at protecting cultural property and curbing the illegal trade in archaeological artefacts. Egypt's Tourism and Antiquities Minister, Sherif Fathy, highlighted last month that the ministry has successfully recovered over 1,500 antiquities in recent years. Officials are continuously monitoring international auction houses and the dark web for any looted Egyptian pieces, further demonstrating Egypt's commitment to preserving its rich cultural legacy.
