Egyptian and US Presidents Co-Chair Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh with UAE Participation

Sharm el-sheikh: The Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh hosted the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, co-chaired by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt and President Donald Trump of the United States. The summit, held on Monday, saw the participation of the UAE alongside Arab and world leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE delegation was led by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, representing UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The summit's opening session included the official signing of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip by the participating leaders.

The summit aimed to consolidate the ceasefire and enhance efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East. It also focused on launching a comprehensive political process to rebuild the Gaza Strip and improve the humanitarian situation, paving the way for new international and regional cooperation to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and achieve sustainable security in the region.

In his keynote speech, President El-Sisi emphasized the summit as a new era of peace and stability for the Middle East. Addressing President Trump, El-Sisi praised his leadership in concluding wars and expressed confidence in the execution of the ceasefire agreement. He reiterated Egypt's commitment to the "Two-State Solution" as the viable path for the aspirations of both Palestinian and Israeli peoples.

President El-Sisi announced Egypt's intention to host the 'Conference for Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development', aimed at providing essential livelihoods for Palestinians and fostering reconstruction efforts. He concluded by honoring President Trump with the 'Order of the Nile', Egypt's highest decoration, in recognition of his efforts to end the conflict in Gaza.
