Cairo:Egypt's net international reserves (NIRs) climbed to a record $57.5 billion at the close of October 2026, marking an increase of $151.6 million from the previous month, as per data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
According to Wam, the country's foreign reserves were recorded at $57.4998 billion by the end of October, compared to $57.3482 billion at the end of September. This notable increase has contributed to a cumulative growth of approximately $6.05 billion in reserves since December 2025, when the reserves were about $51.45 billion.
The growth in international reserves is supported by sustained foreign currency inflows, including remittances from Egyptians working overseas, tourism revenues, exports, and foreign investments. Remittances alone reached $33.9 billion in the first eight months of 2026, while total inflows surpassed $47.3 billion in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, serving as a significant source of foreign currency for the nation.
