Dubai: The Emirates Association for Talents will celebrate the sixth edition of Arab Intellectual Property Day on Monday, an event initiated by the Creators Union of Arab, a United Nations member. This celebration coincides with World Intellectual Property Day, underscoring the UAE's position as a center for creativity, a global innovation platform, and a protector of intellectual rights.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event will be held at the Dubai Police Club and will see the participation of the Creators Union of Arab, along with a notable gathering of experts, specialists, and figures from various sectors across Arab countries and international institutions. The initiative is part of the association's ongoing efforts to support creators and innovators while promoting intellectual property protection across Arab societies.
Dr. Ahmed Nour, President of the Creators Union of Arab and the Arab Media Union, emphasized that hosting this Arab event in Dubai highlights the emirate's forward-looking vision in establishing a knowledge- and innovation-based economy. He stated that intellectual property now plays a strategic role in driving sustainable economic and social development by supporting creative industries and enhancing the competitiveness of Arab societies in the global economy.
He further mentioned that the event aims to bolster respect for intellectual property rights, raise community awareness of their significance, and create opportunities for creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs to invest in their ideas, transforming them into sustainable projects that contribute to a more innovative and prosperous future.
Ahmed Al Dabani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Emirates Association for the Talent, noted that organizing the event aligns with the association's mission to support Emirati and Arab talents. The event will provide an intellectual and knowledge platform to spread a culture of innovation and raise awareness about the importance of protecting ideas, inventions, and human creativity.
This year, the event will focus on the growing relationship between sports innovation and intellectual property rights. It will explore mechanisms for investing intellectual assets in developing the sports economy and ensuring its sustainability, while also showcasing modern experiences in protecting trademarks, media rights, and innovations related to the sports industry.
