Emirates Drug Establishment Prioritizes Pharmaceutical Readiness to Ensure Supply Stability

Abu dhabi: Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) is emphasizing its commitment to maintaining pharmaceutical readiness to safeguard supply flows and ensure market stability. Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director-General of EDE, highlighted the UAE's sustainable pharmaceutical model, which is driven by science, innovation, and advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.

According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Al Kaabi stated that the UAE's approach focuses on anticipating challenges and enhancing preparedness as part of a national vision centered on the health and wellbeing of communities in the UAE and the region. This vision dedicates all national capabilities and resources to these priorities.

In her statement on World Health Day, observed annually on April 7, Dr. Al Kaabi emphasized the establishment's dedication to serving the community by developing a flexible pharmaceutical system. This system, supported by science and knowledge, aims to strengthen response capabilities, ensure the continuous flow of medicines, and improve the quality of pharmaceutical services in accordance with global standards.

Dr. Al Kaabi noted that the theme of this year's World Health Day, "Together for health. Stand with science," aligns with the UAE's strategy of translating knowledge into balanced decisions and utilizing data, modern technologies, and innovation to build a more efficient pharmaceutical system.

She further explained that the system is managed in collaboration with relevant authorities and partners to meet community needs and maintain readiness to respond to health emergencies. Dr. Al Kaabi also mentioned that EDE would accelerate efforts to develop the UAE's pharmaceutical ecosystem and support the country's ambitions for a more advanced healthcare future. This is aligned with the UAE Centennial Plan 2071, which aims to build a sustainable system that keeps pace with global developments and reinforces the country's position as a leading hub for innovation in the health and pharmaceutical sectors.
