Emirates Drug Establishment Prioritizes Sustainability in UAE Pharmaceutical Sector

Abu dhabi: Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), emphasized the UAE's commitment to developing an advanced pharmaceutical ecosystem. This initiative focuses on leveraging science and innovation to bolster local production, ensure a steady supply of medicines, and effectively meet the needs of the community.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Hajeri highlighted the significance of World Health Day, celebrated under the theme 'Together for health. Stand with science,' as a platform to reaffirm EDE's dedication to public health. He underscored the importance of fostering innovative solutions in health and pharmaceutical policy development. The theme resonates with EDE's mission to provide high-quality services catering to all societal segments.

Al Hajeri also pointed out that World Health Day serves as an opportune moment to showcase the UAE pharmaceutical sector's accomplishments and set future priorities. These efforts aim to enhance the country's competitive edge regionally and globally. He reiterated that medicine safety and quality remain top priorities for EDE, which is working to establish a robust pharmacovigilance, regulatory, and inspection framework based on data analysis and real-world medicine usage monitoring.
