Abu dhabi: Emirates Palace Company (EPCO), in collaboration with LEAD Development and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, has announced the launch of Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental Mansions in Abu Dhabi. This limited collection consists of thirty-five uniquely designed private residences, marking the first instance of private ownership within the historic Emirates Palace grounds. The project is expected to be completed by 2029.
According to Emirates News Agency, for more than twenty years, Emirates Palace has been a central feature in the civic and cultural identity of the United Arab Emirates, hosting state visits and international gatherings along Abu Dhabi's ceremonial coastline. The introduction of private residences within this iconic location signifies a new chapter in the evolution of Abu Dhabi as a global cultural, hospitality, and lifestyle hub.
The partnership involves EPCO, which manages the Emirates Palace precinct, LEAD Development, which is responsible for planning and developing the residences, and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, which will oversee residential hospitality and services. The residences are strategically positioned along Abu Dhabi's significant natural shoreline, connecting with landmarks such as Qasr Al Watan and the Founder's Memorial, enhancing the civic and cultural significance of the location.
The architectural design of the residences reflects a contemporary interpretation of Abu Dhabi's coastal vernacular, focusing on proportion, light, and privacy. The homes are oriented around gardens and courtyards, emphasizing privacy as a key architectural element rather than a mere amenity. This approach aims to extend the tranquility and hospitality associated with Emirates Palace into private living spaces.
