Dubai: Emirates has introduced a groundbreaking travel insurance product, becoming the first airline globally to offer Comprehensive Travel Cover. This new product provides extensive coverage, including medical expenses for conflict-related incidents, alongside airline-managed hotel accommodation and extended-stay support for various disruptions.
According to Emirates News Agency, Emirates will also rebook customers at no additional cost when itineraries involve connecting on other airlines or Emirates services are unavailable, especially in cases of conflict-related flight cancellations. This initiative aims to offer customers enhanced peace of mind, supported by Travel Guard, from the moment they book their journey.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, highlighted the proactive approach in addressing a market gap for travel insurance cover, emphasizing the collaboration with Travel Guard to deliver a comprehensive and reassuring insurance product. Russel Antonio, Head of Global Business and Partnerships at Travel Guard, noted that the new product sets a benchmark in the industry by addressing the needs of modern travelers.
The Comprehensive Travel Cover offers trip cancellation cover, compensation for baggage delay or loss, and unlimited medical expense and emergency evacuation cover worldwide. It is available for purchase in multiple countries, including Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates, among others.
