Emirati-German Energy Partnership Convenes 10th High-Level Steering Group Meeting in Abu Dhabi

Abu dhabi: The Emirati-German Energy Partnership held its 10th High-Level Steering Group Meeting at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi, chaired by Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. The meeting aimed to identify cooperative priorities and key areas of work for 2026 to promote sustainable development and achieve shared goals.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting included participants such as Stephanie von Ahlefeldt, Director-General at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Alexander Sch¶nfelder, the German Ambassador to the UAE, and senior representatives from relevant government agencies and institutions. Eng. Al Olama emphasized the partnership's evolution over the past decade into a trusted platform that delivers tangible outcomes beyond dialogue, highlighting the strategic alignment and practical implementation achieved thus far.

Eng. Al Olama noted the importance of the Steering Group in shaping the partnership's direction, reflecting on progress, and addressing the changing energy landscape. He underscored the complexities of global energy systems and the significance of robust partnerships and cooperation in navigating challenges like rising demand, technological change, and sustainability expectations.

Stephanie von Ahlefeldt acknowledged the partnership's foundation of trust and its efficiency in delivering results, attributing the success of the bilateral energy cooperation to a promising future. The Emirati-German Energy Partnership is a strategic initiative aimed at accelerating energy transitions and supporting high-level political dialogue and joint projects for a sustainable, low-carbon future.
