Etihad Airways Surpasses 20 Million Passengers in a Record-Breaking Year

Abu dhabi: Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has reported substantial growth in its passenger volumes and network expansion for July 2025, marking a significant milestone in its operational history.

According to Emirates News Agency, the airline transported 2.0 million passengers in July, a 19 percent increase compared to July 2024, when 1.7 million guests flew with the airline. The passenger load factor rose to 90 percent from 89 percent in the same month last year, indicating strong demand and efficient capacity management.

Etihad's operating fleet now consists of 111 aircraft, supporting a network that has expanded to 81 passenger destinations, up from 76 a year earlier. These numbers highlight the airline's commitment to fleet and route development.

Year-to-date, Etihad has welcomed 12.2 million passengers, a 17 percent increase over the same period in 2024. The average passenger load factor for 2025 so far is 88 percent, compared to 86 percent in the previous year. The airline's rolling 12-month total has reached 20.3 million passengers, reinforcing its position among the region's fastest-growing carriers.

Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed that the airline continues to observe strong momentum, with passenger numbers in July growing by 19 percent year-on-year. The rolling 12-month total surpassing 20 million for the first time reflects the trust customers place in the airline's service and network strength.

Neves also noted the airline's ongoing fleet expansion, including the arrival of its first A321LR. July was a record month with the addition of five new aircraft, including two Boeing 787s, an Airbus A350-1000, an A320, and the inaugural A321LR, demonstrating Etihad's commitment to growth and increased capacity across its global network.
