Brussels: The Council of the European Union has granted the final approval for a regulation that establishes an EU talent pool, a new digital platform designed to connect non-EU jobseekers with employers across the European Union, as confirmed by a statement from the Council of the EU on Monday.
According to Emirates News Agency, this digital platform aims to facilitate international recruitment in sectors experiencing labor shortages within EU member states by effectively matching job vacancies with the profiles of skilled non-EU jobseekers residing outside the EU. The platform is intended to streamline the recruitment process by providing comprehensive information and ensuring jobseekers are aware of their rights, particularly concerning fair recruitment practices and working conditions.
Non-EU jobseekers who secure a job offer through this EU talent pool will be required to navigate their respective national immigration procedures to obtain the necessary residence and work permits. The platform will also provide detailed information on these procedures, including the specific conditions that applicants must fulfill.
Participation in the EU talent pool will be optional for EU member states, allowing each state to decide whether to engage with the platform in addressing their labor market needs.
