Abu dhabi: The ‘Fazaa’ programme, associated with the Ministry of Interior, has launched a new initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Family during the World Governments Summit 2026. This initiative supports the National Family Growth Agenda 2031 and aligns with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has designated 2026 as the ‘Year of Family,’ aiming to bolster the growth and stability of Emirati families.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Ministry of Family and Ministry of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the summit. The signing was witnessed by Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family. Additional attendees included Hessa Abdulrahman Tahlak, Assistant Undersecretary for the Development Sector at the Ministry of Family, and Ahmed Buharoon, Director General of Fazaa.
The initiative offers a comprehensive package of practical benefits and services designed to strengthen family cohesion and ease financial burdens on families, especially larger ones. It aims to enable families to manage their affairs more efficiently and comfortably, aligning with the objectives of the National Family Growth Agenda 2031.
Hessa Abdulrahman Tahlak emphasized that the MoU is a strategic step towards strengthening family identity and creating a supportive environment through proactive empowerment. She highlighted the importance of improving family wellbeing by establishing a foundation for a cohesive society, transforming strategic objectives into an integrated support system that encourages a ‘family growth’ mindset as a core national value.
Ahmed Buharoon noted that the MoU reflects Fazaa’s commitment to its societal role. The initiative seeks to strengthen the cohesion of Emirati families by promoting family time and recognizing the pivotal role of mothers. It aims to reinforce Fazaa’s national reputation by supporting family growth and instilling the concept of large families through tailored service packages.
The MoU introduces special memberships with logos of the Ministry of Family and the ‘Year of Family,’ offering options to include children’s names. Memberships are categorized by family size: Silver for newly formed families, Gold for families with one to three children, and Platinum for families with four or more children or those including a Person of Determination.
The initiative addresses daily needs across various aspects of life, such as housing, health, leisure, and mobility, with a focus on quality of life and social sustainability. Over 34,000 commercial outlets in the UAE and abroad are participating in the programme.
This initiative underscores the Ministry of Family’s strategic role in leading national policies aimed at supporting Emirati families and strengthening their stability. It represents an integrated model of cooperation with Fazaa to achieve the objectives of the ‘Year of Family 2026’ and reinforce the Emirati family as a pillar of sustainable social development.
