FIFA Projects $14 Billion Revenue for 2027-2030 Cycle

Vancouver: The FIFA Congress convened in Vancouver, Canada, where the UAE participated, and approved the FIFA Annual Report 2025, including the budget for the 2027-2030 cycle. This budget anticipates record-breaking revenue of US$14 billion. This unprecedented amount will enable FIFA to reinvest significantly in the game, with all 211 Member Associations eligible for football development funding. This funding represents an eightfold increase compared to previous programs, with FIFA Forward investments expected to reach $2.7 billion.

According to Emirates News Agency, FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted the impact of the FIFA Forward Programme, stating, "In the last 10 years, we have invested $5 billion in football development." The Congress also emphasized the upcoming FIFA World Cups in North America, which aim to unite people globally in harmony and respect. FIFA reiterated its commitment to eradicating racism from the game, with Infantino and the Players' Voice Panel discussing the progress of the Global Stand Against Racism. This initiative was approved at the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, in May 2024.

Since then, FIFA has taken key steps to combat racism, including amending the FIFA Disciplinary Code and implementing the No Racism Gesture at all tournaments. Over 12,000 individuals and more than 570 teams have been protected through the FIFA Social Media Protection Service, and educational resources have been introduced as part of the No Racism campaign. The Players' Voice Panel, representing all six confederations, has completed several high-profile assignments. Panel honorary captain George Weah emphasized the need for the Global Stand Against Racism to reach communities worldwide to raise awareness of racial discrimination's impact.

FIFA President Infantino announced his intention to stand for re-election next year, with the 77th FIFA Congress scheduled for Thursday, 18th March 2027, in Rabat, Morocco. Prior to this, a virtual Extraordinary FIFA Congress will be held on Monday, 23rd November 2026, to appoint hosts for the 2031 and 2035 FIFA Women's World Cups.
