Abu dhabi: flydubai has announced an expansion of its operations in Italy, increasing the frequency of its flights between Dubai and Naples, and enhancing its services to Milan-Bergamo to a double-daily schedule starting 31st July. According to Emirates News Agency, due to planned maintenance at Naples International Airport (NAP), flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily flights to Salerno Costa d'Amalfi and Cilento Airport (QSR) from 1st to 30th November 2026. Services to Naples International Airport (NAP) are expected to resume on 1st December.
During the maintenance period, passengers who have already booked flights to Naples will be automatically rebooked onto the flights to Salerno, ensuring minimal disruption to their travel plans. This temporary rerouting underscores Dubai's position as a central hub for travel, trade, and tourism, offering seamless connectivity for passengers traveling between Dubai and Naples.
With the increased flight frequencies, flydubai will now operate a double-daily service to Milan-Bergamo, daily flights to Naples, three weekly flights to Catania, and seasonal summer flights to Olbia, which will run twice weekly until the end of August.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, emphasized the importance of Naples and Milan as vital gateways within the airline's Italian network. He highlighted the airline's commitment to maintaining convenient access to the region, supporting the flow of trade, tourism, and people between the UAE and Italy as travel demand grows during the winter months.
Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, reiterated the airline's dedication to enhancing its direct services to Naples and Milan-Bergamo. He stressed the significance of the Italian market and flydubai's commitment to providing customers with seamless, non-stop access to key destinations across Italy and beyond.
In addition to its Italian services, flydubai has recently launched flights to Aleppo in Syria, Bangkok in Thailand, and Benghazi in Libya. The airline is also set to inaugurate direct flights to Pokhara in Nepal on 23rd September, further boosting its connectivity to key destinations across the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The services to Naples and Milan-Bergamo are conducted under the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership, which offers passengers the ease of streamlined itineraries, single-ticket bookings, and through-checked baggage.
