FNC and Japanese Parliament Discuss Strategic Cooperation in Abu Dhabi

Abu dhabi: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), hosted Keiichi Iwamoto, Assistant Minister and Director-General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau at Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was attended by Sara Mohammed Falaknaz, an FNC Member.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting reaffirmed the strong strategic and historical relations between the UAE and Japan, based on shared interests and mutual respect. Both parties discussed enhancing bilateral relations, focusing on advanced technology, innovation, the economy, energy, and space.

The representatives emphasized the eagerness of the UAE and Japan to advance their strategic partnership towards more expansive horizons, aiming to serve mutual interests and achieve growth and prosperity for their peoples. They acknowledged the efforts by officials from both countries to sign the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which plays a crucial role in strengthening their strategic partnership.

Furthermore, the meeting explored ways to improve cooperation and communication between the FNC and the Japanese Parliament, particularly regarding regional and international parliamentary participation. This cooperation is seen as pivotal in enhancing coordination and consultation on mutual interests, especially given the increasing importance of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting bilateral relations and fostering cooperation between nations.
