Istanbul: Sara Mohamed Falaknaz, a member of the Federal National Council (FNC) Parliamentary Division to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), participated in the meeting of the Committee on Middle East Questions during the 152nd Assembly of the IPU, held in Istanbul. The committee focused on regional developments, highlighting rising tensions and their effects on security and stability, as well as humanitarian and political challenges related to ongoing crises.
According to Emirates News Agency, Falaknaz, representing the UAE Parliamentary Division, stressed that attacks targeting the UAE, Gulf countries, and Jordan are unacceptable under any circumstances. She reiterated the UAE's position that its territory, airspace, and waters will not be used for hostile acts. Despite these assurances, Falaknaz noted that the UAE has been subjected to Iranian attacks on civilian areas and vital facilities, including airports and service infrastructure, violating international law and good neighbourliness.
Falaknaz affirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting international and regional efforts for security and stability, emphasizing political and diplomatic solutions as primary means to address crises. She highlighted the role of parliaments in fostering peace and dialogue.
In her concluding remarks, Falaknaz called for intensified international efforts to protect civilians and secure vital corridors and global supply chains, contributing to de-escalation and regional stability.
