Moscow: Young drama theatre actors from BRICS+ countries are set to participate in the InteRussia fellowship programme in theatre arts in Moscow. This initiative is organised by the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund in collaboration with the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) and TV BRICS International Media Network, with financial backing from the Presidential Grants Fund.
According to Emirates News Agency, the fellowship, which runs from 25th August to 3rd October, will host participants aged 21 to 35 from a diverse group of countries including Argentina, Brazil, India, China, Cuba, Mauritania, Tunisia, and South Africa. The programme will offer classes in acting, stage speech, and movement, while providing insights into the renowned Konstantin Stanislavsky's system. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit some of Moscow's leading theatres, museums, and exhibitions.
GITIS Rector Grigory Zaslavsky highlighted that the expanded six-week format is designed to deepen participants' engagement with Russian theatre practices. The programme will culminate in a performance featuring excerpts from A. N. Ostrovsky's play "The Storm," showcasing the skills and knowledge acquired by the participants.
Launched in 2021, the InteRussia fellowship aims to foster cultural, scientific, and social ties between Russia and other nations. This year's programme is being carried out with ANO Mezhdunarodniki and Rossotrudnichestvo. Additionally, there is a parallel InteRussia fellowship focused on the energy sector, specifically targeting specialists from Latin America and the Caribbean.
