Gabriel Sousa Dominates Ruan Alvarenga in Thrilling ADXC 11 Finale

Abu dhabi: Gabriel Sousa emerged victorious against Ruan Alvarenga, concluding an electrifying evening at the 11th edition of the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC 11) held at ADNEC Centre in the Al Ain Region. The event gathered prominent figures from the world of jiu-jitsu and grappling for its second showcase.

According to Emirates News Agency, the main event saw Brazilian Sousa exhibit a commanding performance, defeating fellow Brazilian Alvarenga with a rear-naked choke in the lightweight division. Another highlight was Daniel Barbosa's victory over Haibula Aviev in a feature bout.

The championship, organized by International Vision Sports Management alongside the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, attracted a significant audience, creating a charged atmosphere. The event featured ten bouts across jiu-jitsu and grappling, all taking place within the octagonal cage.

Several dignitaries, including Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, and Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director of Destination Management at the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, were in attendance. They joined the organizers in presenting awards to the winners.

Tareq Al Bahri, Deputy General Manager of International Vision Investment, remarked on the event, emphasizing the intensity and skill displayed. He noted the championship's mission to provide memorable experiences for combat sports enthusiasts globally and congratulated the winners for their efforts.

Sousa expressed his satisfaction with his victory, acknowledging the milestone it represented in his athletic career. He praised Abu Dhabi for organizing the championship and credited his family and supporters for their encouragement.

In the co-main event, American Helena Crevar secured a submission victory over Finland's Salla Simola, marking her second win in ADXC competition. Crevar highlighted her strategic approach, focusing initially on leg attacks before breaking through Simola's defense for the submission.

The main card also featured dynamic bouts, with Seilkhan Bolatbek defeating Kenzo Biyong via unanimous decision. The preliminary card included notable victories, such as Brazilian Arthur Souza over Breno Pittizer, Emirati Ammar Al Hosani over Kazakhstan's Dabyl Abdulla, and several other compelling contests showcasing the global talent present at the event.
