Gaza Strip Faces Critical Food Shortage as WFP Raises Alarm

Gaza Strip: The World Food Programme (WFP) warned on Sunday that Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip remain on the brink of famine, stressing the urgent need for a continuous daily flow of aid trucks into the besieged territory.

According to Emirates News Agency, the warning was issued in a post by the UN programme on its X official account. This announcement comes as the Gaza Strip continues to endure a severe humanitarian and relief crisis following the closure of crossings by Israel on March 2.

The WFP highlighted that merely allowing aid into Gaza is insufficient. It stressed the importance of having the capacity to transport and distribute food within the Gaza Strip "safely and without delay." The statement underscores the ongoing challenges faced in addressing the dire needs of the population in the region.
