Dubai: The overall composite index of financial markets within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations experienced a growth of 0.7% throughout 2024. This index serves as a reflection of the unified performance of GCC financial markets.
According to Emirates News Agency, by the conclusion of 2024, the total market capitalisation of GCC financial markets was approximately $4.2 trillion, as reported by the GCC Statistical Centre (GCC-Stat). This figure, however, represents a 4.4% decline in comparison to the market capitalisation at the end of 2023.
Throughout 2024, the market capitalisation of GCC financial markets represented about 3.5% of the total global market capitalisation, indicating the region's role in the global financial landscape.
