Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Engages in Azerbaijan’s International Parliamentary Conference

Baku: Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, participated today, alongside a delegation from the Council, in the International Parliamentary Conference held in Baku, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event included over twenty delegations from national parliaments and international organizations.

According to Emirates News Agency, in his speech at the conference, Al Jarwan praised the Constitution of Azerbaijan as a pivotal milestone, highlighting its role in upholding justice, independence, tolerance, and human dignity. He emphasized that these principles are essential for the nation's development and unity.

Al Jarwan extended his congratulations to Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, Dr. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis, and the people of Azerbaijan on this notable occasion. He recognized Azerbaijan's commitment to promoting intercultural dialogue and regional and global peace efforts.

He also discussed the shared values between the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and Azerbaijan, emphasizing their collaboration with over 100 countries and various academic institutions to promote tolerance and peace worldwide.

Al Jarwan mentioned the strong partnership with Azerbaijan's National Assembly, established through a memorandum of understanding signed in 2024. This partnership has enhanced cooperation in promoting tolerance, empowering youth and women, and supporting interfaith dialogue.

During the visit, Al Jarwan and the delegation paid their respects at the Baku Memorial and Martyrs' Lane, honoring the sacrifices of Azerbaijani martyrs.
