GNGC Highlights Dubai’s Readiness, Whole-of-Government Integration Model

Dubai: The General Network of Government Communication (GNGC), under the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai, conducted a meeting at Jumeirah Emirates Towers to exhibit Dubai's readiness and its integrated government model. The meeting underscored the unified approach to government communication across the region.

According to Emirates News Agency, the session emphasized the critical need for sustained coordination among government entities and the alignment of messaging around Dubai's strategic priorities. Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai, highlighted the role of effective public engagement in bolstering trust in government decisions, particularly during crises.

Al Basti stated that Dubai's framework for collaboration represents a leading model for decision-making, reinforcing the emirate's readiness. He stressed the importance of unified communication in showcasing Dubai's global reputation and ambitious plans while engaging meaningfully with the public. He also urged government communication leaders to highlight Dubai's strengths across key sectors.

The meeting reviewed updates to Dubai's Government Communication Guide, which provides a framework for communication functions aligned with Dubai Plan 2033. The guide includes governance tracks for strategic, media, and corporate communication, serving as a reference for government teams.

Sabah Salem Al Shamsi, Assistant Secretary General for Government Communication, noted that the GNGC plays a central role in setting communication policies and ensuring alignment. He highlighted the launch of the Dubai Government Communication Guide, supporting a whole-of-government approach.

Budoor Ali, Director of Government Communication, emphasized proactive communication and the one-voice approach. This model enhances public engagement and strengthens coordination among leaders, ensuring the public is informed of government initiatives.

The meeting also featured the City Makers initiative, aimed at enhancing shared government services. Ahmed Huraimel, Director of Excellence and Government Services, discussed efforts to improve service delivery in vital areas like education and health.

Asma Al Janahi presented the Jabr framework, an initiative under City Makers designed to streamline services for bereaved families. This framework coordinates services through a single government employee, allowing families to focus on human aspects during sensitive times. The Jabr framework unites 22 government entities to support families efficiently.
