Abu dhabi: Gold and silver extended gains on Monday as the dollar weakened: Spot gold rose 1.4 percent to US$5,029.09 per ounce by 0037 GMT after a near four percent climb on Friday. US gold futures for April delivery gained 1.4 percent to US$5,051.0 per ounce. According to Emirates News Agency, spot silver increased by 2.5 percent following a significant 10 percent gain in the previous session. Meanwhile, spot platinum rose 1.8 percent to US$2,134.18 per ounce, and palladium also saw a 1.8 percent increase, reaching US$1,737.75 per ounce.
