Hamdan bin Mohammed Approves Formation of Supervisory Committee for Family Initiatives

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has sanctioned the establishment of the Supervisory Committee for Initiatives under the 'Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme'. The Committee will be led by Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai.

According to Emirates News Agency, the formation of the Committee aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and demonstrates Dubai's dedication to fostering an integrated and sustainable social structure that prioritizes families, enhances their wellbeing, and enables their contribution to the emirate's future. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the Emirati family is the foundation of a stable and prosperous society, and supporting them is vital for Dubai's sustainable development.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that the new Committee reflects Dubai's strategy to coordinate government efforts around unified development priorities, thereby improving the efficiency of Dubai's social framework and its ability to meet present and future needs. He expressed a vision for Dubai to be a global model of quality of life and social development, centered on strong families.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid stated that the Committee will establish a comprehensive institutional framework to govern initiatives and services for families, enhancing collaboration and responsiveness to their needs. The Committee's role includes overseeing the implementation of initiatives through an integrated framework, aligning roles and responsibilities, measuring impact, and coordinating effectively among involved entities.

She added that the focus will be on converting social priorities into impactful initiatives and services for families. By utilizing data, formulating proactive policies, and strengthening government integration, the Committee aims to fulfill families' aspirations and prepare them for future changes.

The Committee's formation is a testament to the Dubai Government's commitment to a progressive social framework emphasizing cooperation, proactive planning, and impact assessment. This framework aspires to provide a supportive environment where families can thrive, emphasizing that sustainable development begins with family cohesion and quality of life.

The Committee, chaired by Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, includes Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita as Vice Chairman and other notable members from various Dubai Government departments. Their collective efforts will focus on verifying the progress of initiatives, coordinating efforts for enhanced integration and efficiency, and proposing plans and policies for family stability.

The Committee will also make recommendations to the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, monitor performance indicators, assess initiative impacts, and submit periodic reports. Its mandate includes proposing family-supportive plans, establishing specialized working groups, and aligning government policies with the strategic goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33.
