Hamdan bin Mohammed Forms ‘Supervisory Committee of Rashid Villages’

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, has issued Decision No. (1) of 2026 to establish the Supervisory Committee of Rashid Villages. This new committee will be chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

According to Emirates News Agency, the committee's members include key figures such as the Director General of the Office of the Crown Prince of Dubai, who will act as Vice Chairman. Other members include the Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, the CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber Society, and the Chairman of the Board of Al Jalila Medical Education and Research Support Foundation. The Director of the Office of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will serve as Secretary, with a rapporteur to be appointed by the Chairman.

The committee is tasked with overseeing the project of 'Rashid Villages', approving plans and initiatives, coordinating between entities, and ensuring implementation. It will also manage governance, risk, and resources, while addressing any challenges that arise. The Chairman will issue directives needed to enforce the decision, which takes effect immediately.

The 'Rashid Villages' initiative, launched in 2025 by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, commemorates the tenth anniversary of the passing of his late brother, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The initiative aims to honor his humanitarian legacy by creating model villages that provide essential services such as housing, education, healthcare, and social services to underprivileged families, ensuring they lead a dignified life.
