Hamdan bin Mohammed Inspects Al Dhafra Air Base to Assess Defence Readiness

Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, visited Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi to inspect military units, assess their operational preparedness, and review efforts to enhance the nation's defence capabilities.

According to Emirates News Agency, upon his arrival, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was welcomed by Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Major General Staff Pilot Rashed Mohammed Al Shamsi, Commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defence, along with senior officers and officials. During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the Armed Forces' discipline and operational excellence, commending their professionalism and continuous development through cutting-edge technologies.

Sheikh Hamdan also noted the dedication and efficiency observed during the visit, emphasizing the Air Force and Air Defence's significant role in building a robust defence infrastructure to protect the nation and its resources. He stated that advancements in human and technological capabilities, coupled with ongoing training and modernization, ensure the Armed Forces' readiness to tackle any challenge.

During the tour, Sheikh Hamdan praised the national workforce's progress in mastering the latest military technologies, underscoring the shared responsibility for UAE's security and the need for constant preparedness. He was briefed on the command and control systems, logistical, and technical support infrastructures at the base, reflecting the Air Force's advanced capabilities.

The visit included a tour of the Air Warfare Centre, where Sheikh Hamdan received a briefing on its mission and role in advancing missile defence capabilities. The presentation highlighted the centre's cutting-edge programmes in training, simulation, and testing, as well as efforts to localise specialised defence knowledge.

At the conclusion of the visit, Sheikh Hamdan expressed gratitude to all members of the Air Force and Air Defence for their dedication and commitment, commending their efforts in serving the nation, safeguarding its achievements, and ensuring its security at all times.
