Hamdan bin Mohammed Meets with Chairman of Supervisory Board of Leica Camera AG in Dubai

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, met today with Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Leica Camera AG, a company known for its lenses and cameras.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan congratulated Dr. Andreas Kaufmann and Leica Camera AG on the 100th anniversary of the company's founding. The journey began in 1925 when Leica first introduced its groundbreaking camera models in Leipzig, Germany.

During the meeting, Dr. Kaufmann highlighted the company's historical connection with Dubai, noting the significant role Leica employees played in capturing everyday life in the city decades ago. Sheikh Hamdan welcomed Leica's decision to celebrate its centennial in Dubai, emphasizing the emirate's commitment to being a global hub for innovation and creativity.

Sheikh Hamdan also reiterated Dubai's dedication to supporting creative talent across various fields, encouraging the presentation of products and innovations that contribute to human progress. Dr. Kaufmann expressed admiration for Dubai's sustainable development model, driven by innovation.

He praised Dubai as a leading hub for technological advancements and progress, explaining that Leica chose the city for its centennial celebration due to its impressive global reputation. Dr. Kaufmann also expressed pride in Leica's role in documenting Dubai's history and community life during a pivotal era in the city's modern history.
