Hatta Development Committee Completes Suite of Projects

Hatta: The Supreme Committee for Development of Hatta, chaired by Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, has finalized a series of development projects in the Hatta region. The initiative is part of the Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan, aiming to improve the quality of life and services for residents and visitors.

According to Emirates News Agency, the completed projects include the Hatta Dam Amphitheatre, a new school, and a prototype housing unit in Makan. Additionally, a 15-kilometre mountain biking trail and a 10-kilometre hiking trail have been constructed. The initiative also features development of the Strawberry Farm, Hatta Farm, and the Leafy Greens Farm, along with enhancements to mobility solutions in the area.

The Hatta Dam Amphitheatre, a 610-metre structure, offers visitors an accessible route to the dam's highest point, with six rest areas along the ascent. The amphitheatre ensures easy access for all users and preserves the natural landscape. It is designed to accommodate People of Determination and aligns with Hatta's Urban Design Guidelines.

Comprehensive visitor services have been added, with the amphitheatre connected to the Mobility Centre. A pathway also links the amphitheatre to the Hatta Waterfalls project, featuring a mosaic mural of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, made of over 1.2 million pieces of natural marble.

The new school spans 18,600 square metres and accommodates over 1,000 students with 44 classrooms, learning laboratories, sports halls, and a theatre. It incorporates sustainable infrastructure, including solar panels and energy-efficient systems.

The Committee also completed maintenance at four schools, upgrading facilities and replacing lighting systems. The development of three farms is part of efforts to enhance food security and sustainability, employing modern farming technologies and improving production efficiency.

Projects such as the Hatta Majlis and a new wedding hall aim to strengthen social cohesion. Additionally, the Hatta Community Service Centre will provide various services for Makan District residents. Ongoing projects include the construction of homes for UAE nationals and the expansion of cycling tracks.

Further developments are planned for the Hatta Hospital, Hatta Sports Club, and regional dams, reflecting a commitment to comprehensive community development.
