Hazza bin Zayed Reviews Sports Development Plans with Abu Dhabi Delegation

Al ain: H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, has received a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Abu Dhabi Falconers' Club to discuss key plans and programs aimed at advancing the sports sector in the Al Ain Region.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on the council's vision and strategies for enhancing the region's sports sector. Plans include hosting championships and competitions, increasing sports participation across different community segments, and supporting heritage sports to establish Al Ain Region as a prominent sports destination.

The delegation outlined various upcoming sporting events in the region, such as running races, half marathons, and community sports events. They also discussed the region's role in hosting stages of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge and a round of the Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza was also informed about the activities and programs of the Abu Dhabi Falconers' Club, including efforts to preserve falconry as part of Emirati heritage. The Arabian Saluki Championship program was highlighted for its role in preserving cultural heritage and educating future generations.

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of developing the sports ecosystem in Al Ain Region, aligning with the directives of the UAE's leadership under His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The aim is to make sports a catalyst for community development, improve quality of life, and promote healthy lifestyles.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza also emphasized expanding community sporting events to support the objectives of the Year of Family, encouraging family members to participate in diverse activities. He underscored the significance of heritage sports in connecting current generations with their national heritage.

The meeting was attended by several officials, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Aref Hamad Al Awani, Sultan Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, and Rashed Musabbeh Al Manei.
